This time we figured we would talk about the bonding experience between your animal and their groomer.
Bonding with any animal is a slow and gentle process. Over time any experience had while grooming will affect that bond. if negative things(ie hard handed grooming, cold water shock,rough handling or even a groomer that is in a bad mood) are allowed to become common place during a groom then the pet will associate all these negatives with the grooming experience not just that groomer.

At the happy camper mobile grooming we believe the grooming experience should be reinforced with positive experiences such as a gentle voice, soft grooming, one on one attention, even a treat during the grooming experience if the owner allows. Plus we never come to work in a bad mood :)

All of these positives equal a happy pet,owner and overall experience during the grooming process. Over time any pet will come to enjoy and relax during a visit from the happy camper.

First we would like to say happy fourth of july. I know the fourth is not for another three days but you might not read this on that particular day.

After all holidays are busy. especially at grooming salons. everyone is trying to get squeezed in at the last moment before the holiday and most of the time most people can't get in the day before or day of the holiday.

Now the good news is we are mobile and self contained so we will make it to you. even on the day of a holiday if need be. That way you can focus on your celebration without all the hassle of trying to find somewhere to take your pet. then fight off everyone else that is in line.

Reasons Why grooming helps your pet

There Are several reasons why every pet should have a regular grooming schedule. Heres a few to get you started.

A regular grooming schedule helps maintain a productive, healthy life. A pet that is not groomed regularly becomes more susceptible to flea and tick infestations. Fleas and ticks thrive in matted dirty hair. Some people say " oh my pet doesn't mat" but I have showed people the mats that they don't see under the top layer of fur and they are totally surprised. Once the pest have taken hold in this type of matted coat they are harder to remove.

As the coat and skin becomes dryer the more the pet sheds, the dander then increases and possibly they will begin to scratch and the itchy spots causing scratches,which can lead to sores and then to infection. Properly moisturizing and cleaning will help prevent this problem.

Eye,ear and Nail care often get overlooked. The ears should be debri free, very little wax and no smell. If any of these signs are present your pet should have their ears cleaned. The eyes should be clear and free of hair and mucus with clean faces. The nails should be short and not ingrown into the pad. an ingrown nail can cause extreme pain and infection. Which can make them less likely to play and be social.

Regular grooming can also make your lovely pet feel better. Which makes them more likely to be friendly and social. They play more therefore getting more excercise. A clean well groomed pet is a happy pet.
